CPDM Bangor have many promising young players in their squad and one of them celebrates her 18th birthday today.

Congratulations to Alys Davis, who has been part of the Bangor senior team set-up for the past two seasons.

She has played in 19 first team matches, scoring three goals, as well as five games for the under-19s. netting once.

Alys first made her mark as part of the brilliant Penrhyn Bay Girls side of 2020-21 and 2021-22 which reached back-to-back FAW Under-16 Welsh Cup finals.

In May 2021, Alys came on as a substitute in the national final against Barry Town United at Latham Park, Newtown.

Despite a phenomenal hat-trick from Sophie Rawling, Penrhyn unfortunately lost out 4-3.

Coaching the team that year was none other than Alys’ dad Owen John Davis, former player and manager of Machno United, who has been a major influence behind his daughter’s footballing adventures to date.

In 2022-23, Alys joined CPDM Bangor, featuring first for the under-19s in a 3-3 draw at Connah’s Quay.

Her full first XI debut followed two days later in a 14-0 league beating of Llanystumdwy.

Alys’ first goal for the senior side came in a 3-0 win over Caernarfon Town in the North Wales Women’s League.

Bangor won the league that season as invincibles and were promoted to the Tier 2 Genero Adran North, where they held their own last term.

Alys featured in seven league matches last season, scoring in a 1-1 draw with Llanfair United and also finding the net in a 7-0 NEWFA Challenge Cup caning of Welshpool.
