CATCH-UP: North Wales Cricket League reports Divisions 1-4 (Saturday, May 18)

NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE ROUND-UPS MAY 18 – DIVISIONS 1-4

DIVISION ONE

Abergele (2) 105-10 Pontblyddyn (13) 157-10

James Hughes’ vital knock of 44 did most to help Pontblyddyn set a winning score of 157 at Pentre Mawr.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Pont were bowled out for 157, David Moulson an excellent 3-14 off nine, Ed Rooney 3-29 and Sam Painter 2-15 for Gele.
In reply, Abergele were all out for 105, Rooney 31, Osian Jones 3-26, Hughes 2-15 and Rhys Jones 2-18 for the visitors.

Bethesda (15) 262-10 Dolgellau (0) 142-9

Daniel Oshyer (79). Ben Parker (41) and Richard Green (40) starred in Bethesda’s mighty effort of 262 all out, Lafras Van Vuuren picking up 5-46 for the visitors.
Dolgellau were restricted to 142-9, Van Vuuren 56, Pesda’s Craig Newey taking an awesome 4-9 off 8.4 in his team’s 15-0 points victory.

Connah’s Quay (13) 195-4 Brymbo 2nd XI (2) 192-7

Australian Brody Camp hit a match-winning 75 not out off just 62 balls for Connah’s Quay.
Brymbo seconds chose to bat and set 192-7 off 45 overs, Joss Roberts best with 73, skipper George Bourne 30 not out.
Inspired by Camp, Quay made it to 195-4 in 40.5, Mali Auty adding 41.

Conwy (8) 151-8 Northop 2nd XI (8) 151-9 – match tied

A rare tie was the outcome at Bodlondeb.
Invited to bat, Conwy posted 151-8 off 45, Shaun Davies 50 and Raj Britto 38, Joe Griffiths 2-19 and Matthew Mullkarkey 2-26 for the visitors.
Northop seconds ended on 151-9, James Roberts 54, Shaun Davies 2-19 for the hosts.

Hawarden Park (4) 52-10 Halkyn (11) 53-8

A low-scoring encounter at Moor Lane saw Halkyn celebrate their first win of the season.
Halkyn put the opposition in and skittled them out for just 52 in 34.2 overs, Gareth Thomas 2-2 off seven, Graeme Settle 2-6, Muhammad Bajwa 2-11 and Muhammad Khan 2-13.
Khan then hit a vital 20 as the visitors scraped over the line at 53-8, Tom Norris 3-3 and Michael Wootton 2-8 for the home side.

Mold (13) 127-4 Buckley (2) 124-10

Isaac Allen’s 59 not out included the winning six as Mold triumphed by six wickets in the Flintshire derby.
Buckley were bowled out for 124, Lewis Pringle 4-19 for the home side, who hit back with 127-4 for a 13-2 points verdict.
