Ten teams secure Tier 2 licence to compete in Adran North next season – who are they?

Flint Town United women’s team have secured a Tier 2 licence to compete in Genero Adran North

The Genero Adran North League would have scope to accommodate 10 teams next season as that number of clubs has secured a mandatory Tier 2 licence.

It was announced by the FAW today that the following have all been successful in their T2 Club Licence applications:

Airbus UK Broughton
Connah’s Quay Nomads
CPD Y Rhyl 1879
CPDM Bangor
CPDM Y Felinheli
Flint Town United
Llandudno
Llanfair United
Llangefni Town
NFA

Flint qualified for promotion after finishing champions of the North Wales Women’s League East Division.

Although they were beaten in the overall North Wales League Play-Off Final by West title winners Pwllheli on Sunday, the Llŷn Peninsula team did not apply to go up.

Llangefni Town, who finished runners-up in the West, did throw their hat into the ring for Tier 2 status and were successful.

Champions Llandudno, Connah’s Quay, Y Felinheli, CPD Y Rhyl 1879, NFA, CPDM Bangor, Llanfair United and Airbus were the eight teams who made up the Adran North in 2023-24.

Nineteen of the 22 applications across Wales for a Tier 2 licence got the thumbs up.

Clubs are assessed on the following criteria:

Sporting: Youth & Coaching
Infrastructure
Legal
Personnel & Administration
Financial
Football Social Responsibility
