NORTH WALES COAST EAST LEAGUE – WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17 REPORTS

DIVISION ONE

Prestatyn Wanderers 4 Bow FC 7

All hail the undefeated Division One champions and double winners Bow FC!

A thrilling 7-4 victory over Prestatyn Wanderers on Wednesday night ensured Bow secured the league title to add to their REM Jones Cup success of 11 days previous.

Although Wanderers are next-to-bottom in Division One, they gave their Prestatyn-based ‘visitors’ quite a game at Bastion Gardens.

Alex Garrett handed Wanderers an 11th minute lead before Joe Carey levelled the contest very shortly after.

However, with just 14 gone Garrett struck again for the underdogs.

Robbie Parry then converted penalties on 20 and 25 minutes to edge Bow in front.

Kieran Ellis also found the net after 29 to give Bow a 4-2 interval lead.

The next goal was vital in deciding whether the game would stay alive and it was Wanderers who got it, Martin Halewood scoring from the spot four minutes into the second stanza.

Carey made it 5-3 to Bow on the hour and James Harper gave the leaders breathing space by adding a sixth on 71.

Still the Wanderers would not lie down, Domenico Galante cutting the arrears to 6-4 on 76, but with 83 on the clock, Liam Brown’s goal ensured Bow had the final word.

The result meant Bow are undefeated in 18 league games – 17 wins and a draw – and need only to avoid losing in their final two fixtures to end up invincible champions.

PREMIER DIVISION

Mochdre Sports 2 Meliden 2

Lewis Thompson’s 96th minute strike rescued a point for Meliden at Mochdre.

Joshua Grimshaw put Sports in front after 41 minutes, but Joe Roberts equalised in first half stoppage time.

Chris Smyth nudged Mochdre back ahead after 68, but the visitors kept battling and Thompson’s late heroics earned them a draw.

REPORTS – SATURDAY, APRIL 13

PREMIER DIVISION

NFA 4 Llansannan 0

NFA went top of the Premier after a fifth straight league victory at the expense of visitors Llansannan.

The Rhyl side are now unbeaten in 10 league matches and it looks to be heading towards a two-horse title race between them and Cerrigydrudion.

After a goalless first half in which Llansannan more than held their own, NFA grabbed a 62nd minute lead when great persistence from Joshua Parry enabled him to squeeze the ball home from an angle.

It was not until the 84th minute when Chris Durkin scored that the hosts could start to feel relatively comfortable that victory was theits.

They made totally sure of the points when Durkin made it 3-0 on 90 and Antonio Jacovelli added a fourth soon after.

Rhuddlan Town 1 Llandudno Junction 6

A Jack Williams hat-trick, plus single goals from Dave Maddock, Stephen O’Neill and George Roberts banked a convincing scoreline in Junction’s favour .

However, the final outcome does not tell the whole story. Bottom side Rhuddlan were level at half time, Ellis Trubshaw having equalised in the 32nd minute after Maddock’s early opener.

The Railwaymen could also afford the luxury of a Dean Seager missed penalty in the first half.

DIVISION ONE

Glan Conwy 3 Rhos United 2

Dave Hansom’s 94th minute winner clinched three hard-fought points for Glan Conwy.

It was goalless until first half stoppage time when captain Joel Morgan Jones put Glan one-up.

Player-manager Nathan Watson doubled the lead three minutes into the second half, but two quickfire goals from Scott Court (penalty) and Gabriel George made it all-square just past the hour.

Both sides chased the winner but it was Hansom who delivered the killer blow, Cyril Carey with the assist.

Llysfaen 1 Y Glannau 4

The incredible Harrison Bellis notched all four goals for Y Glannau to boost his total for the season to 58 in all competitions from just 25 matches.

Llysfaen were just 2-1 down at half time, Sean Sheridan bagging their goal from the penalty spot.

One of Bellis’ quartet was also a penalty.

Y Glannau sit third and look to have a great chance of runners-up spot.
