Flint Town United have secured promotion to the JD Cymru Premier League.
The Silkmen are going up because fellow Tier 2 Cymru North title contenders Holywell Town have not appealed against the FAW’s decision to refuse them a Tier 1 licence.
As Flint have already attained Tier 1 licence status, and are guaranteed at least second place in the CN, they will return to the top flight in 2024-25.
The Essity Stadium club’s 4-0 victory at Mold Alexandra on Tuesday night ensured they will finish in the top two in this season’s Cymru North table.
Josh Jones’ hat-trick inspired Flint to a thumping victory on a night to remember at Alyn Park.
Jones’ treble put him on 21 league goals for the campaign, while a single for Elliott Reeves raised his total to 32, meaning the pair have hit 53 between them in the CN this term.
Reeves delivered further good news for Flint today when he committed himself to the club for the 2024-25 campaign.
A 35th minute penalty from Jones gave the visitors a half-time lead at Mold.
Reeves made it 2-0 on 65 and Jones struck on 73 and 90+1 to round off a memorable evening for Lee Fowler’s men.
Andrew Evans’ 69th minute net-finder was enough to seal three points for Guilsfield at The Globe.
Tonight’s game at the Achieve More Stadium had to be abandoned just past the hour after a medical emergency in the stand needed urgent attention.
Holywell were 1-0 ahead at the time, Danny Andrews with the fourth-minute goal.
