It was a fine way for Kinmel Bay to round off their comeback season in the North Wales League as they defeated Welshpool 4-0 at Y Morfa to clinch third place in the East Division.

Beaten twice by the two teams above them, Denbigh Town and champions Flint Town United while putting up a good show in all four games, Bay had everyone else’s measure.

Sunday’s game stood at 0-0 until the 38th minute when Seren Williams converted a penalty to make it 10 league goals for the season.

Three minutes into the second half, Lucy Perry made it 2-0 from a Jen Small assist.

Small was again involved when Georgia Williams bagged her first league goal of the campaign on 55 minutes.

Perry finished off the scoring on 64, Llinos Bonnett with the assist.

Kinmel Bay are still in the Betty Pickering Cup and visit Pwllheli in the quarter-finals.

After the match, Kinmel Bay left the following message on their social media: “We are all as a club so proud of our ladies. We have worked hard all season and to come 3rd after many seasons out of the league just shows how the hard work as paid off.

Many thanks to our amazing manager Naomii Oakley – you have done a fantastic job and what a great first season we’ve had. Also a big thanks to Jessica Hall for your support as well on the sideline along with Naomii.”
