The two best supported clubs in the Cymru Premier League meet up today for what could be a real New Year’s Eve cracker.
Caernarfon Town host Colwyn Bay at The Carling Oval in a game which kicks off at 12.30 pm and is also being shown live on S4C’s Sgorio.
The teams clashed on the opening day of the season with Bay playing their first-ever match in the top-flight having finished Cymru North champions last term.
A close contest was expected, but Caernarfon’s superior finishing earned them a resounding 4-0 win.
A repeat victory for the Canaries today would put them in a strong position to clinch a top six spot for the fifth time in six seasons since they returned to the Cymru Premier in 2018-19.
While a win would not guarantee Richard Davies’ side a Championship Conference berth, it would put them two points ahead of fellow upper-half chasers Haverfordwest County with one game apiece remaining.
Caernarfon finish their phase one fixtures at Cardiff Met University on January 13, while Haver host Bala Town on the same afternoon.

As for Colwyn Bay, a win at The Carling Oval would lift them out of the bottom three.
Bay have lost their last three Cymru Premier games following back-to-back wins, but have reached the Welsh Cup quarter-finals.
