Results & tables from wk 8-9 of Hogan Gwynedd and Anglesey Winter Netball League

Tim o Walis had a fantastic, close-fought win last week

Arfon Ladies became new leaders of the Hogan Gwynedd and Anglesey Netball Winter League Division One on goal difference last Wednesday (November 29) with a convincing 34-22 win over Celts Bach.

Three teams now share the leadership on 30 points, but Arfon, who have won six out of six, edge it on superior stats.

Neither the second or third place teams, Pwllheli Panthers and Penygroes Primos were in action last week.

Tim o Walis nudged up to fourth with a thrilling 30-27 victory over Fflamau Brynrefs.

In what was probably match of the week, Walis trailed 23-22 entering the last, but took the closing quarter 8-4 to snatch the points.

Elen Edwards and Nia Thomas has outstanding games for past champions Walis.

The other Division One matches produced clear wins, Walis Bryncoch outscoring Dyffryn Ladies 29-14, WaliB’s overcame Holyhead 34-18 and Dolgellau saw off Bethesda 23-16.

DIVISION TWO action saw second place Porthmadog Dyffryn Ladies defeat Blaenau Ffestiniog 32-22, Diane Williams standing out for the winners.

Genod Walis pipped Dreigiau Brynrefs 23-20 in a tight contest which stood 16-16 at the end of the third quarter.

Walis Warriars doubled the score of opponents Llewod Llangefni in a 38-19 success.

Well done Genod Nantlle on their first point as they held Cymric Caernarfon 13-13. It could have been even better for Nantlle as they led narrowly at the end of all the first three quarters, but Cymric bossed the last 3-2 to force a draw.

Anni Grug performed really well for Nantlle.

Ellie Brady impressed for Pwllheli Pumas in their 29-15 derby triumph against Pwllheli Hustlers.
