Colwyn Bay and Caernarfon Town are streets ahead when it comes to attracting the highest attendances in the Cymru Premier League this season.

Newly-promoted Bay have pulled in an average crowd of 788 across their opening nine league matches at the 4 Crosses Construction Arena, including a league highest this season of 1,411 for their debut fixture against Caernarfon Town back in August.

Caernarfon have recorded an average gate of 544 through the turnstiles with a top figure of 814.

The Seagulls and Canaries are upholding the tradition of North Wales clubs being best supported in the league, following the halcyon days of the former Bangor City and Rhyl FC.

Third biggest CPL average this season so far is Barry Town United on 444.

Perhaps surprisingly, the three clubs with the lowest average attendances in the league are the top three sides in the table!

Runaway leaders The New Saints’ average turnout is 303, third-place Newtown are on 286 and rock bottom are the team presently second in the standings, Connah’s Quay Nomads (266).

The latest attendance table after matches played on December 2 does not actually include stats for a handful of games.

Figures for Penybont v Caernarfon (16/9), Pontypridd v Bala (16/9), Bala v Aberystwyth (27/9), Penybont v TNS (7/10) and Penybont v Aberystwyth (27/10) have not been publicly recorded.

Would never have happened on Mel ap Ior Thomas or Andrew Lincoln’s watch!
