Jack Hoult struck twice for Abergele to make it nine goals in six league games during a season where injury has restricted his appearances.
When Hoult plays, Gele are a different proposition, as they proved on Saturday by beating Llandyrnog to edge further clear of the bottom two.
Hoult struck on 10 and 34 minutes, while James Christopher Lloyd was also on target for the home team after 18.
It was 3-0 at half time, but Llandyrnog fought back after the break, David Lawson-Cooke and Joe Maguire on target for an away side who fell just short of salvaging a point.
Goals from Tom Watkin-Jones, Rob Lewis and a 78th minute winner from Iorwerth Jones ensured Cerrig took the points from a close battle with Llanfairfechan.
Elliot Croston and Osian Roberts responded for an away team which twice came from behind in the first half to be level at the break.
A great point for bottom side Rhuddlan at the OPS Wind Arena where Town’s goalkeeper Shane Hayes produced yet another outstanding performance.
Goals from Isaac Hall and an Ellis Trubshaw scorcher put the visitors two-up before the half-hour, but by the interval Jack Williams and Dean Seager had both struck in reply to make it 2-2.
Dan Roberts’ penalty for Junction early in the second half was brilliantly saved by Hayes, who made a series of other fantastic stops.
However, on 69 minutes, Roberts made amends by edging the Railwaymen 3-2 up.
Rhuddlan would not be denied, however, and six minutes into added time they were awarded a spot-kick.
Junction keeper Stephen O’Neill kept the ball out, but recent signing Ricci Thomas put away the rebound to rescue a dramatic point.
The phenomenal Connor Morris reached 50 goals for Kinmel Bay in just his 46th appearance as his team made it six unbeaten in the league at the expense of Llansannan.
Morris, who joined Bay at the start of 2022-23 from Llysfaen, hit 37 goals in just 33 games for the Y Morfa side last term and is on 13 in as many matches this season after his double in Saturday’s victory at Cae Chwarae.
The striker bagged twice in the first half, after 23 and 33 minutes respectively, the second a penalty to put put Kinmel two-up at the break.
Luke Appleby pulled one back for Llansannan early in the second half, but the hosts’ chances of a total revival received a blow on 76 minutes when they had Dafydd Jones red-carded.
Bay capitalised on the extra man with new signing Jordan Bellham scoring twice in three minutes in the closing stages to cement the win.
Man of the match Chris Smyth notched a hat-trick for a Mochdre side which edged up to second in the table with a dynamic victory.
An electric first half, and some fantastic high-tempo football saw Sports race into a 4-0 lead at half time thanks to two goals apiece from Smyth and Anuar Seilkhanov.
Further goals in the second half from Scott Brown, and Smyth wrapping up his treble in the 90th minute, secured the points and put the cap on a brilliant performance.
Robin Hughes scored Cernyw’s consolation.
Amateurs marked their return to the OPS Wind Arena in style with an 8-1 triumph which sees them top the table on goal difference.
Joe Jones led the charge with four goals for the hosts, David Williams adding two, with Mike Chapman and Azz Rogers one apiece.
Lewis Roberts replied for Henllan after 18 minutes at which stage they were 2-0 down.
Jay Sutton (3), Andy Butterworth, Stanley Farrell, Tom Cottrell, Ryan Williams and Ben Kelbrick shared the goals in a big away win for Penrhyn Bay.
Responses for Betws came via Simon Blain and Dylan Rowell.
Luke Snape (2), Dan Lloyd and a Stuart Roberts own goal ensured Glan Conwy took the spoils at the Bananabeu and sit level on points with Llandudno Amateurs at the summit.
Roberts also scored at the right end for the hosts, finding the net on seven minutes.
Ten-man Rhos edged a hard-earned victory on the Rhyl Leisure Centre outdoor pitch.
Shane Roberts put All Stars in front from a 36th minute penalty which resulted in Rhos player Alex Williams being shown a second yellow card.
Despite being a player short, Rhos rallied strongly at the start of the second stanza, goals from Phemmy Allison and Bret Durkan putting them ahead by the 51st minute.
Joshua Jones levelled for the hosts on 73 to set up a tense finish and it was the 10-men who grabbed it, Gabriel George with the 85th minute decider.
