GENERO ADRAN TROPHY GROUP 2 – OCTOBER 29

Airbus UK Broughton 2 (McDonald 6, N/A 75)
Llandudno 9 (Donougher 8, 44, 60, 61, 69 & 84; K Davies 26 & 28; Tradewell 88)

Six-goal sensation Stevie Donougher ensured Llandudno advance to the Genero Adran Trophy last 16 as Group 2 North winners.

The Australian ace has now netted 24 times in just eight matches this term and passed the 50-goal mark since signing up for North Wales football at the start of 2022-23.

Having already whipped Airbus 8-0 in the Genero Adran North League just three weeks earlier, Tudno suffered an early setback at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium when the Wingmakers went ahead on six minutes through a Zara McDonald goal.

However, it was not long before the Seasiders were level.

Maddie Williams delivered a great ball through the middle for Donougher to use her speed to run onto and slot home bottom-left past keeper Lucie White.

In the 26th minute, Erin Doran received the ball back after having an initial shot saved and passed to Kelsey Davies who fired in from 20 yards.

Davies struck again two minutes later, receiving a ball from Jasmin Dutton down the left before beating three opponents to find the net.

A minute before the break, Donougher saw her first effort kept out by White, but the Sydney sensation blasted high into the top-left corner to make it 4-1 at the turnaround.

Half-Time: Airbus 1-4 Llandudno

On the hour, Donougher completed her first hat-trick of the day when the ball went in off her body via a Dutton corner.

Donougher hammered another strike into the top-left corner a minute after following a Doran lay-back.

Maddie Williams was the provider again when she headed the ball to Donougher, who rounded the keeper and slotted into the bottom-right to make it three goals in nine minutes and five in all.

Airbus pulled one back through Farrah Aslam, playing her first senior game along with team-mate Sophie Jones, but in the 84th minute Donougher completed a double hat-trick heading in at the back stick from a Tradewell corner.

Tradewell had the final word in the 89th minute, receiving the ball from a goalkeeper kick-out and returning it with interest via a lob into the net from beyond 40 yards.
Maddie Williams was named Player of the Match for Llandudno, who top the group with a 100% record.

GENERO ADRAN TROPHY GROUP 1 – OCTOBER 29

NFA 2 CPD Y Rhyl 1879 2

These town rivals drew for the second time this season, with the point Rhyl 1879 gained being enough to send them into the last 16 of the Genero Adran Trophy.

In an evenly matched game, visitors 1879 went 1-0 up with a superb finish from Laura Williams into the top corner across NFA keeper Katie Spruce.

The hosts soon equalised after Rhyl failed to clear their lines, and some scrappy play in the box led to Kelci Morris making it 1-1.

The away side struggled to get going again after conceding and found themselves 2-1 down in the 39th minute after Jess Mills worked well down the left-hand side and hit the ball past keeper Loz Jones.

In the second half, 1879 had a lot of the play, but were victims of numerous offside calls.

However, the visitors did manage to equalise on 58 minutes when Williams played a through ball to Sade Benjamin, who put away her 12th goal of the campaign.

All-square at the end, with Rhyl clinching second place in the group to secure progression in the tournament.

Connah’s Quay Nomads 3 Llanfair United 1

Nomads made sure of topping Group 1 with a victory at Llanfair’s expense.

Alisha Wright made the breakthrough for the home side on 35 minutes, Elana Harley with the assist.

It remained 1-0 untii the 61st minute, Sophie Hodson setting up Anais Bathily to double the home lead.

Harriet Davies replied for Llanfair with 68 gone, but Amber Bailey’s 74th minute net-finder clinched it for the Deesiders.
