Despite a valiant effort from Bangor the away team took home the three points.
Windy and rainy conditions did not stop the game going ahead but made it hard for both teams to compete.
The home side were 4-0 down when Menna Evans netted a consolation from a stunning free kick on 82 minutes.
Connah’s Quay goals came from Elana Harley, Phoebe Ellis and Polly Wild-McGregor, while home keeper Becca Elliott was unfortunate to find her own net, having otherwise made her usual array of great saves.
Bangor coach Aron Griffith had this to say after the match: “Tough one to take for us all today. Despite our best efforts we didn’t capitalise on our chances and were second to the ball a lot.
“On the positive i’m very happy with the way we played with the ball today. Some strong winds in the first half made it tough to keep it but second half we were passing it around well. Some brilliant saves again from our goalie Becca and a well-struck free kick from Menna was brilliant.
“Also nice to see our pathway shine again with one of our under-17’s Erin making her senior debut for us coming off the bench. Future looks bright from our youth teams “
“Thank you Kevin Prytherch for the pictures and to those who braved the weather to support the team.”
