NORTH WALES COAST EAST PREMIER DIVISION REPORT – AUGUST 30

Mochdre Sports 4 (Tidswell OG 34, Brown 53, Jeffers 81, Grimshaw 88)
Llanfairfechan Town 2 (E Croston 26, H Croston 29)

Mochdre rose up to second in the North Wales Coast East League Premier Division with a second win of the season over Llanfairfechan on Wednesday night.

Sports had already edged past Town 3-2 in the Welsh Cup at the end of July and repeated the dose in the league at Swan Road.

After going two goals down, Elliot Croston scoring on 26 minutes and Harry Croston after 29 for the visitors, Mochdre dug deep to secure the three points despite being reduced to 10 men late on.

Llanfair’s goals both came from the right side via a looping header, and a tidy finish.

Mochdre’s first saw Llanfair keeper Sam Tidswell fumble into his own net under pressure.

The equaliser arrived on 53 minutes when Rees Brown finished “expertly” from 70 yards.

Mochdre took the lead after 70 when Jack Jeffers followed up on his own header, and lobbed the onrushing keeper.

Five minutes later the hosts were reduced to 10 when captain Kai Davies was sent off for a second bookable offence.

However, in-form Sports hitman Josh Grimshaw cemented the three points by making it 4-2 with minutes to go.
