Four-goal hero James Ryan hit a major landmark on Saturday when he became the first ever CPD Caergybi player to find the net 100 times for the club.
Ryan’s golden season was 2018-19, when he amassed 72 league and cup goals for the Holy Island side and lifted the Bob Brodie Trophy for the top scorer on Anglesey with a then record total for the competition.
In 2019/20, he notched 11 goals for Caergybi before a move to Glantraeth. He scored 15 last season for Dale Moffat’s side and his first goal of four on Saturday at Llangoed and District saw him hit the century.
It is a marvellous feat for the 36-year-old former serviceman from Valley who has also worn the colours of Bryngwran Bulls and Holyhead Town.
He knocked in 54 goals for the Bulls in 2017-18 and 20 the season before. Up to last weekend, he had netted 188 goals in total in six and a bit seasons since 2016-17.
Ryan was the star man in Saturday’s Division One contest at Llangoed, where Jerome Sillence added the other goal. Floyd Chapman provided two assists, with Louis Chapman and Nik Kontodios one apiece.
Caergybi manager Moffat said: “Great effort from the lads going with a small squad of 12. “Unbelievable effort and work from them all playing some good football at times and digging in when needed.
“Also a massive well done to James Ryan becoming the first ever player for Caergybi to get to 100 goals. Well done mate – 103 and counting.”
New signing Jay Finter and Laurence Mandel converted a penalty apiece for Llangoed.

Alex Kalafusz, Nathan Palmer and Sion Jones (2, 1 pen) split the goals in an emphatic win for Bontnewydd at Cae Clyd.
CPD Cefni 3 Bethesda Rovers 2
Goals from Dion Jones, Andy Williams and Nathan Sinnott were enough to seal three points for Cefni in an entertaining game at Isgraig, Louie Turner and Kieran Freeman replying for the Rovers.
CPD Mountain Rangers 1 Llanystumdwy 3
Owen Pritchard and Darren Parry (2) were on target in Llanystumdwy’s success at Cae Gors.
Alan Mark Owen responded with a penalty for Rangers in 61 minutes by which point the hosts were 3-0 down.
