Barmouth and Dyffryn United resign from tier 3 Ardal North East league

Barmouth and Dyffryn United have announced their withdrawal from Ardal North East just three months after getting promoted to the tier 3 league.
The club secured their place at the higher level after finishing runners-up in the Central Wales League Northern Division last season.
However, it has become apparent in recent weeks that Bermo have lost several key players and were struggling to replace them.
Last Saturday, they were thrashed 9-2 at Menai Bridge Tigers of tier 4 in the JD Welsh Cup first qualifying round.
The Wern Mynach club released the following statement this evening: “The club is sorry to have to announce that it has decided to withdraw from Tier 3 and the Ardal Northern League for this coming season.
“Unforeseen circumstances have come to light in the last two or three weeks which mean we would not be able to do justice to playing at Tier 3 level.
“A further announcement will be made when plans have been finalised for the club for 2023/24.”
The Magpies’ resignation leaves Ardal North East with 15 clubs for the coming season, namely:
Bow Street
Builth Wells
Cefn Albion
Dolgellau Athletic
Llandrindod Wells
Llanfair United
Llangollen Town
Llanrhaeadr YM
