Gareth Rhodri Jones (Rhos Aelwyd)

Tier 3 Ardal North East club Rhos Aelwyd have appointed Gareth Jones as their new first team manager for 2023-24.

At schoolboy level, Gareth represented Wales in the Victory Shield tournament and as a university student played for Cardiff-based UWIC. He also studied at Loughborough University.

Later he represented Ipswich Town on a YTS and had stints with Welshpool Town, Guilsfield and Caersws, where he was assistant player-manager.

Steffan Edwards and Aled Parry have agreed to continue as part of Jones’ management team at Ponciau Park. Parry will combine playing commitments with coaching.

Jamie Hulse (Corwen)

Corwen will begin life in tier 4 with a new management team this season.

The club, relegated from Ardal North East last term, have appointed Jamie Hulse as their new first team boss.

He will be joined by assistants Adam Galdo and Ash Simm, with Daf Hughes taking on the role of coach.

The new regime are raring to go after a successful spell in charge of Ruthin Town Reserves, where they completed the league and cup double in 2022-23.

Hulse has previous experience as player/coach at Corwen, who will compete in the North East Wales Premier Division in 2023-24.

Jason Aldcroft (Buckley Town)

Aldcroft was appointed at the end of April following a short spell away from the club where he was assistant-manager at North West Counties League side and former FA Trophy winners Burscough.

A highly respected and talented A-Licence coach, Jason spent many years at The Globe before his stint with Burscough.

The new manager replaces Dan Moore, who stepped down at the end of last season.

Dan Richards and Jay James (Rhostyllen)

Rhostyllen appointed a new four-man management team in May.

Dan Richards and Jay James take the reins, assisted by Jake Jones and Tom Morgan.

Rhostyllen were relegated from tier 3 Ardal North West last season and now aim to make a fresh start in the North East Wales League Premier Division.

The new management set-up have certainly been busy building a squad, with new signings including Hari Gould, Jacque Coates, Jack Antony, Ben Duffy, Jack Brindley, Drew Wickens, Aayron Rafferty, goalkeeper Mark Richards from Chirk AAA, Caleb Davies and the returning Lewis Clamp.

Those retained from last season include goalscorer Tom Douglas. Expect Rhostyllen to be quite a force in 2023-24.

James will support the new management duo in his new role as Head of Adult Football as part of the adult section’s amalgamation with the Mynydd Isa Youth this summer under one club name – Mynydd Isa FC.

Nathan Watson and David Pasko (Glan Conwy)

After last season’s relegation Glan Conwy will look to rebuild in the North Wales Coast League East Division One in 2023-24.

Last season’s manager James Sweetman has been replaced by new joint-bosses Nathan Watson and David Pasko. Rooney Moore becomes assistant-manager and Mike Hughes stays on board with the team.

Watson is well-known in the area for his past successes as manager of Rhyl and District Sunday League team FC Mally.

As a player, he formerly represented Conwy United in the League of Wales and had spells at Llandudno Junction and Glan Conwy.
