One man destroyed Chirk’s victory hopes with a commanding century at Holyhead Road.

Opener Craig Heath struck 133 not out as visitors Cound piled up 223-4 off their allotted 38 overs, reduced from 45 due to rain.

Heath’s mighty knock came off 117 balls and included 11 fours and eight sixes. No-one else reached 30 for the away side, who were put into bat.

Liam Walker picked up 2-12 for the home side.

Set a revised target of 239, Chirk’s response ended on 214-9.

Nick Flack did best with 39, Shashika Meistry 30, Wynn Jones 27 and Jonathan Phillips 25, Heath completing an amazing display with 3-32, the same figures as team-mate Joe Yapp.

Points went 19-5 in Cound’s favour.
