North Wales Cricket League Premier – Walker stars as leaders Northop win again, victories for Gresford and Mochdre

NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE REPORTS – JULY 15

Northop (13) 168-4 Pontblyddyn (2) 103-10
Wicket-keeper Richard Walker scored in the 80’s for a second week running as Northop stretched their lead at the summit to 12 points with a comfortable win over Pontblyddyn.
In a match reduced to 20 overs per side due to the weather, the hosts were put in and rattled up 168-4.

Opener Walker hit 81 off just 60 balls, including seven fours and three sixes with a strike rate of 135.00, while Ben Beaver posted 45 and Henry Dowd 26. Walker and Beaver put on 105 for the third wicket.
James Hughes picked up 2-43 for the visitors, who were bowled out for 103, Chris Moss 29 and Renacko Belgrave 27, captain Bart Ryan-Beswick taking 2-0, Charlie Collins 2-5, Marlon Barclay 2-27 and Andy Poynton 2-28.
Llandudno (2) 133-10 Mochdre (13) 228-10
Visitors Mochdre recovered from a vulnerable looking 146-7 to set a match-winning score at The Oval.
Put into bat, the away side were bowled out for 228, number seven bat Adam Jones top-scoring with 51, Alex Davies adding 39, Joe Chaplin 30, Aidan Kelly 23 and then Daniel Phillips (23) and skipper Sam Davies (22) compiling vital runs down the order.
For Llandudno, Jack Rimmington claimed 4-54, Tom Thornton 2-39 and Jamie Grimshaw 2-49.
The hosts were sent packing for just 133, Alexander Corver 28 and Tom Bleasdale 22, Kyle Brown scooping 2-14, Matthew Humphreys and Alex Davies both 2-21 and Chaplin 2-31 for the winning side.
Gresford (13) 161-9 Mold (2) 102-10
Tom Crewe snapped up a superb 5-29 in Gresford’s 59-run victory at Clappers Lane.
The home side were asked to bat and posted 161-9 off 49 overs, Daniel Williams 46 and Wes Evans 27, George Deniz 2-9, Richard Deniz 2-26 and Lewis Pringle 2-34 for Mold.
In reply, the away side were dismissed for 102, George Deniz 25, with Crewe the star bowler for the Colliers, well supported by Simon Perry, who took a excellent 3-14 off 10.
