We’ve already seen quite a few new managers appointed since the 2022-23 North Wales football season ended a few days ago – and beforehand too.
Here’s a look at some of them….
Woz happenin? Would you Adam and eve it? Meliden Football Club have appointed a diamond geezer as their new manager.
And no it ain’t Ron Squire! Even though Ron is the most manager-type name ever, E-Squire has vital work to continue operating the club’s media output.
Warren “Woz” Adam has taken over as boss of the Prestatyn-area North Wales Coast East Premier Division club.
With experience from Prestatyn Town, Conwy Borough and CPD Y Rhyl 1879, the latter where he started coaching, Woz is very eager to get started at The Mine!
Meliden chairman Tom Fletcher has said: “Over the moon to have Woz come on board.
“To be able to get him in with so much high interest from other clubs says a lot about where the club is going. With him and Dan in the dugout it’s going to be a very exciting year!”
With Pen Phoenix having completed back-to-back North Wales Coast Reserve Division title successes, new manager Adam Jones has quite a lot to live up to!
A club statement said: “Adam brings a wealth of playing experience with him and we look forward to having him on board.”
It will be great to see Rhydymwyn Football Club back on the scene in 2023-24 with Jordan Jackson having just been appointed new first-team manager.
He moves to The Mighty Mornflake Stadium following a season as coach to the very successful Scholars at Connah’s Quay Nomads.
Jackson joins Rhyd for a second time in a coaching capacity after previously managing Rhydymwyn Under-19’s.
He brings a wealth of knowledge to the role having worked with some of the most talented young players in the region.
At Nomads, he helped develop some of the most promising prospects in Welsh football. While at Rhyd Under-19s, he oversaw a successful period of growth and development for his young team.
Jordan said: “I am so excited to take on the challenge of starting from scratch and leading a team to new heights.
“I am thrilled to be taking on this new role at Rhydymwyn FC. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at a club that I have an affinity with.
“I can’t think of a more fitting time to take on my first managerial role in senior football. I am excited to get started and can’t wait. I would like to thank chairman Mike Chesters for giving me the chance to work for this wonderful football club.”
Rhydymwyn chairman Mike Chesters added: “Jordan has been accepted on the course to achieve his A licence making him one of the youngest in Wales to have this.
“Jordan is the ideal fit for the club, especially now the club has achieved a Tier 3 licence and to have Jordan now committed to the club and with a very experienced coaching staff to assist him the future is looking bright.”
CPD Aberffraw’s new management team is Dave Harper as manager, Al ‘Llan’ Williams – assistant and Mark Edwards – coach.
Harper and Williams both know the club inside out, having played for Berffro for a combined 20 years.
A club statement said: “Both men have been firm fans’ favourites over the years and as a club we see it as a fine transition for them both from playing into management.”
Edwards needs no introduction having been involved in the fantastic sides at Bryngwran Bulls in the 2010’s which won a lot of silverware.
“A proven winner, Mark’s experience and knowledge will complement our new look management team,” added CPD Aberffraw.
Mark Queen is Holyhead Town’s new manager for 2023-24.
With plenty of playing and coaching experience in the Holyhead and Anglesey area, Mark has also in the past done great work in the development of girls football in his hometown.
A Holyhead Town spokesman said: “We’re delighted to have Mark with us here at Town. He’s a very experienced and knowledgeable manager, we can’t wait for him to get started.”
Joining Mark on his coaching team is Richard Jones (Rich Bach), one of the finest players the island has produced.
The club added: “Again, we’re delighted to get Rich on board for the upcoming season. A well-known figure on the island, Rich is going to be a big asset to this club.”
This season’s manager Craig Brodie is stepping down to take up a role on the committee with Holyhead Town.
The club thanked him for his amazing service, with a tremendous track record of success going back a number of years.
