Eight teams have been granted licences to compete in Adran North next season.

They are
Airbus UK Broughton
CPDM Bangor 1876
Connah’s Quay Nomads
CPDM Y Felinheli
Llandudno
Llanfair United
NFA
CPD Y Rhyl 1879

Last season’s Adran North champions Wrexham have been promoted to the Adran Premier.

With there having been seven teams in the tier 2 league last term the Red Dragons’ departure leaves six, and newcomers CPDM Bangor 1876 and Rhyl-based NFA will take it up to eight.

Bangor 1876 have already been crowned champions of the tier 3 North Wales Women’s League this season. NFA are vying for second place with Pwllheli.

The Rhyl side will automatically qualify for promotion if they get runners-up. If they do not secure second, NFA will have to apply for a vacancy as per the regulations and it would be up to an FAW Board to decide at their discretion, whether the Rhyl club can be placed into the Adran North.

The First Instance Body (FIB) met today (4 May) to assess and consider the Adran North and Adran South Licence applications.

Clubs are assessed on the following criteria: Sporting, Football Social Responsibility, Infrastructure, Personnel, Legal and Financial.

The Club Licensing system aims to assist the continual improvement and development of football clubs at the top level within Wales.

Licensing is a transparent process that enables clubs to demonstrate to their stakeholders that they meet quality standards.
