NORTH EAST WALES FOOTBALL LEAGUE – REPORTS APRIL 8

PREMIER DIVISION

Lex XI 2 Queen’s Park 3

Dan Parry struck twice to help the Park secure a hard-earned three points at Stansty.

Lex had the better of the first half as it progressed and led at the break courtesy of Liam Sklenar’s 21st minute goal.

After the break the Park’s pivotal figure Mike Latham began to take control of the game.

The equalising goal came on 51 minutes when Latham slid a great ball in between the full-back and centre-half to release Parry, who was able to fire beyond the Lex goalkeeper.

The next goal on 64 minutes was pure industry from Jack Hanley. A long kick from keeper Josh Edwards looked to be bouncing all the way through to his opposite number, but Hanley would not give it up and beat the custodian to the ball to find an open net.

The Park were now in full pomp and it was another long ball that freed Parry to break from halfway and round the keeper to make it 3-1.

A Luke Hughes own goal, also credited by the Lawmen as a second for Sklenar, completed the scoring late on.
