GENERO ADRAN NORTH – MARCH 12

CPDM Y Felinheli 0
Llandudno 3 (Dutton 2, F Owen)

Last season’s champions Llandudno clinched third place in the 2022-23 Genero Adran North table with a comfortable win at Cae Seilo.

Both sides were missing key players with Tudno having to field long-time injured Claire Colville in goal for what was her first game in two years.

An off-colour Felinheli, who had been in fine form of late and won away to Llandudno the week before, hardly tested Colville throughout, posing very little threat in attack.

With Llandudno Ladies struggling for a squad due to players working and an ever-growing injury list, they travelled to Cae Seilo with the bare 11.

A number of players were forced to play out of position, including Claire Colville, who is normally a defender.

Both sides showed bags of determination before the visitors struck first on 32 minutes.

Captain Sofie Owen fed Maddie Williams, who in turn picked out Ffion Owen. The midfielder lifted a lovely ball over the defence for Jasmin Dutton to receive and calmly slot home into the bottom left-hand corner.

Tudno pushed for more goals with Dutton always a danger, but goalkeeper Catrin Beech made some great saves to deny the former Wales international.

Into the second half and it remained a close contest. The points were in the balance until with five minutes left some great passing and movement saw Maddie Williams release Dutton, who rounded the keeper and put away her second.

Llandudno wrapped up the points with a third goal in the 93rd minute.

From a defensive clearance, Ffion Owen collected the ball and let fly from 35 yards. The effort bounced over the keeper for Dutton to run onto.

It was thought Dutton got a touch before the ball found the net, but the player honestly confirmed after the match that she made no contact.

Therefore a 10th goal of the season for Ffion Owen.
