A good win on the road for a Menai Bridge side sitting just two points off third place in the Premier Division.

Aberffraw could have taken an early lead but for a defensive block from Johnny Roberts followed by a fine save by David Clarke.

Tigers opened the scoring in the 18th minute, when a Paul Rowlands corner was headed out to Jamie Ryan Jones on the edge of the area. The defender showed great technique to keep his head over the ball and drive it past the goalkeeper.

Two goals in quick succession from Callum Davidson gave Menai Bridge a three-goal lead at the interval; both almost identical left-footed finishes into the bottom right corner.

Alex Cooper made it four for the visitors in the 65th minute.

A Callum Thomas corner was punched out by the Aberffraw goalkeeper straight to Cooper who hit a well-placed volley in off the underside of the crossbar.

Aberffraw pulled a goal back in the 70th minute with a fine finish from Tomos Hughes, the Berffro striker finding the top corner from a narrow angle.

Amlwch Town 1 Pwllheli 4

Four second-half goals clinched a fourth straight win for Pwllheli, who lie seven points behind table-toppers Bethesda Athletic with two games in hand.

Man of the match Louis McFarlane (2), Dafydd Roberts and Sel Kempster saw the Llyn side home, Dan Jones replying for the hosts.

Glantraeth 2 Mynydd Llandegai 1

Hosts Glantraeth battled back from a goal down to beat Llandegai.

Osian Tudur handed the visitors a sixth-minute lead, but Luke Winter levelled on 29 and Andy Clarke delivered the decider after 55.

Llannerchymedd 2 Llanberis 0

This was a tremendous result for Llannerchymedd, recording their first win of 2023 at the expense of third-place Llanberis, who had whipped Gwalchmai 6-0 the previous weekend.

Zakariye Jama broke the deadlock on 27 minutes and Jordan Taylor doubled the lead after 53.

Nefyn United 0 Gwalchmai 1

A superb response from a Gwalchmai outfit which had crashed 6-0 at Llanberis a week earlier.

Gwion Thomas pocketed the only goal of the match for Craig Evans’ men on 64 minutes.

Penrhyndeudraeth 2 Llanrug United 6

Sion Roberts (3), Kevin Lloyd (2) and Tomi Llywelyn guided Llanrug to a big win at Maes-y-Parc.

Cedri Jones notched both replies for Penrhyn, who had Cemlyn Owen red-carded on 84 minutes.

Pentraeth 1 Bethesda Athletic 5

Leaders Bethesda romped to a convincing victory at Bryniau Field, Scott Hughes (2), Noa Hughes, Gari Owen and Daniel Hughes splitting the away goals, Matthew Morris with a consolation for Pentraeth.

Division One

Dei Thomas and Adam Thomas notched the first-half goals which sealed the points for Llanfairpwll.

Luke Miles was sent off for the hosts on 70 minutes for a second yellow card.

Gaerwen 1 Bethesda Rovers 2

One of the best results of the weekend was achieved by Bethesda Rovers who took the honours at an in-form Gaerwen.

Osian Price and Sion Bullock scored in the first half to put Tristan Walker’s side in command.

Claudio Pires Sani pulled one back for Gaerwen on 83 minutes, but it was too late to stave off defeat.

Llangoed & District 1 Bontnewydd 4

Luke Phillips (2), Meilir Rowlands and an own goal from Daniel Owen ensured there was no joy for the Puffins at home to Bont.

Mason Turpin collected a consolation goal for the hosts, who had Aaron Evans dismissed for two yellow cards.

Llanystumdwy 6 Holyhead Town 1

Arwyn Parry Jones plundered a hat-trick in an emphatic success for Llanystumdwy at Dwyfor Park.

Owen Pritchard, Kyle Williams and Iolo Jones added the other home goals, Callum Queen with a late reply for the Harbourmen.

Trearddur Bay 7 Arriva 2

Asa Thomas reached 40 goals for the season in all competitions with a hat-trick in his team’s demolition of the Busmen.

Mike Edwards, Coby Doutch and a Kaine Bentley double brought up the seven for the top of the table side, Abiodun Akanni and Dylan Jones the Arriva marksmen.
