Llandyrnog United 1 Kinmel Bay 4

Two goals in the opening six minutes set up Kinmel Bay for a magnificent result in their first game of 2023.

The visitors made a fast start and led after just 89 seconds, Connor Morris scoring from a Mason Richards cut-back.

It was not long before a second away goal followed, Anthony Jones took the flag kick that resulted in Dyrny goalkeeper Dylan Jones punching the ball out to the awaiting Ryan Hulse, who calmly slotted through a crowded penalty area into the bottom right-hand corner from 20 yards.

Llandyrnog are a hard-working team who never give in and they pulled a goal back on 16 minutes when debutant Alix Williams converted from 23 yards out with a well-hit shot.

Hulse found the net again for Kinmel close to half time, but was ruled offside.

The second half started with United looking to get back into the game and Bay trying to put some daylight between themselves and a fine side who defeated them twice last season.

On 62 minutes, Connor Morris got his brace. What can only be described as a well-orchestrated scissor kick from Ian Dunn fell into the path of the on rushing Morris, who fired past Jones to make it 3-1

Kinmel made all three substitutions within the next 20 minutes to help ease the workload on the rest and the newcomers did very well.

The final goal on 92 minutes came from sub Ethan Evans, who picked up the ball after Morris had his shot saved, calmly took it past the keeper and fired home.

Kinmel’s thoughts and get well wishes are with Llandyrnog player Tomos Cumming, who ended up with a double fractured cheekbone.

Llandyrnog manager Jimmy McNally added: “Referee Mark Petch, our coach Tudur Morris and Kinmel Bay’s physio and lads were superb during the incident.”

Glan Conwy 1 Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs 1

Despite having two players sent off, Glan Conwy ended up with a point at Cae Ffwt.

The hosts took the lead after 30 minutes through Joel Jones and it stayed 1-0 up to the changeover.

Ten minutes from time, Glan’s Sam Porter received a second yellow card and the 90 was up when Huw Parry equalised.

The home side also had scorer Jones dismissed after the final whistle.

CPD Llansannan 3 CPD Bro Cernyw 1

Two goals from James Thomas and a single by Gruffudd Roberts clinched the points for Llansannan.

Luke Roberts bagged a consolation for Cernyw.

DIVISION ONE

CPD Y Glannau 11 Llysfaen 1

Six goals from the on-fire Harrison Bellis took him up to 33 for the season in 14 games across all competitions.

And 14 of those goals have been netted in just three games against last Saturday’s opponents, luckless Llysfaen.

Bellis has actually scored 38 times in 2022-23, but five versus Betws-y-Coed have been chalked off as the Conwy Valley club withdrew from the league.

His first goal of Saturday’s game was his best. He won the ball, beat the centre back and powerfully netted top right, in off the post.

The front man got his second after 23 minutes after a Chris Rogers corner was headed against the bar by Jordan Davies-Jones and Bellis was on cue to tap home.

Two soon became three, Joey Fontana getting tripped in the area, the ref awarded a penalty and Bellis converted it.

The fourth home goal came after a lovely ball by Aaron Dodwell ripped open the Llysfaen defence.

Ged Burke struck low against the post and the ball rebounded in off keeper Ben Williams for an own goal.

Bellis headed against the post before hitting his fourth. A long throw by Tawse Cox was headed on by Fontana, the ball hit Rogers and fell to Bellis, who tapped in 5-0.

Half time: Y Glannau 5 Llysfaen 0

Llysfaen started the second half better, but come the 55th minute it was 6-0.

Osian Williams delivered a fantastic pass, playing in Bellis who lashed in his fifth.

Y Glannau made a few substitutions and one replacement Andy Hannaby had an Immediate impact, heading down a long throw into the path of Bellis who turned to smash home for his double hat-trick which made it 7-0.

Tomos Williams was also introduced, a welcome return for a player who has been struggling with an injury since going off in gameweek one against Llandudno. He looked sharp and his quick feet were causing the Llysfaen defence problems.

The eighth goal came after Andy Hannaby’s ball in was headed into his own net by Llysfaen captain Ashley Morris.

Burke opened his account when he stole back possession, broke into the box and lashed home.

Llysfaen got a late consolation after they were awarded a penalty, Dan Batey stepping up to score.

Hannaby and Fontana added two more home goals before the end.

CPD Henllan 1 Bow 4

New signing Ashley Seddon took just three minutes to open his account for Bow.

Loui Ocarroll doubled the away lead on 23 minutes before Alex Thomas replied after 34.

Seddon struck again in the 40th minute to make it 3-1 at half time.

Tom Weir’s penalty on the hour clinched the win for Bow, who had Cale Kemp red-carded in the 90th minute.

NFA 5 Caer Clwyd 2

NFA (blue) battle it out with Caer Clwyd. Picture: MATT JOHNSON

Two Morus Owen goals put Clwyd two-up by the half-hour, but a Matthew Robinson penalty just before the break sparked an NFA revival.

Ste Falvey, substitute Ciaran Brady and a double from Owen Jones, one a penalty, turned the tables for the home side.

Penrhyn Bay 2 Llandudno Amateurs 8

Debutant defender McKenzie Slaven made a great start in an Amateurs shirt, scoring twice from corners.

Joe Jones added a double, while Azz Rogers, Luke Nichols, Dave Williams and Kyle Johnson shared the rest.

Solomon Dickens and Jamie Grimshaw responded for the home side.

Rhyl All Stars 0 Rhos United 7

Lewis Sealey (red and black) turned on the goal magic for Rhos. Picture: MATT JOHNSON

Lewis Sealey plundered a marvellous 12-minute hat-trick for Rhos at the start of the second half.

Sealey did the damage between the 48th and 60th minutes for the visitors, who were good value for their victory.

Tom Edgley, Bret Durkan, Jake Edgley and Richard Beardmore added the other goals for the away team.
