The first of today’s T20 matches on beautiful Anglesey produced a thrilling six-run win for Wales NC North.
The hosts were put into bat and posted 139-8 off their 20 overs, Colwyn Bay’s Adam Campion and Menai Bridge skipper Gethin Roberts both making 32.
Harrison Jones added 22 and opener Sam Rimmington a flying 18 which included four fours.
Matthew Oswell took 3-18 for the visitors.
In reply, Northumberland were limited to 133-8, John Oswell 30.
Harrison Jones completed a fine match with 3-30, while there was a wicket each for Chris Ellwood, Campion, Danny Ryan, Roberts and Joe Howell.
Revenge for the visitors as they swept aside Wales NC North by more than 100 runs in the second T20.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, the away side chalked up 158-7, Bobby Green 35 and Matthew Oswell 34.
Alongside two run-outs, wickets were split between Harrison Jones, Owen Reilly, Danny Ryan, Campion and Howell.
In response, Wales NC North were blasted away for just 56, skipper William Ryan the only double-figure merchant with 15.
Mohsin Mukhtar fared best for the travellers with 3-11.
So a mixed two days for Wales NC North, but two wins out of three made it a more than worthwhile exercise.
