North Wales Division Three – Pontblyddyn and Brymbo 2nds continue to lead the way

NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE DIVISION THREE REPORTS – JUNE 18, 2022

Abergele 2nd XI (2) 100-10 Pontblyddyn 2nd XI (13) 165-10

Pontblyddyn seconds continue to lead the way in Division Three after a 65-run win at Pentre Mawr Park.

Dave Evans (35) and skipper Richard Davies (33) led the way as Pont were bowled out for 165, Gwion Humphreys 2-9 and Jain Sebastian 2-22 for Gele.

The hosts could only reach 100 all out in reply, Anthony Howe 36, Ryan White taking 4-24 and Cayo Jones 2-22 for the table-toppers.

Gwersyllt Park 2nd XI (0) 78-9 Brymbo 2nd XI (15) 79-0

William Roberts claimed a stunning 5-10 off nine overs as second-placed Brymbo 2nds eased to victory at Gwersyllt.

Electing to bat, the Park were limited to a mere 78-9 off 40 overs, James Collier the best of the batting with 25.

All the Brymbo attack bowled well and economically, Gareth Pugh, Wayne Smith and Ross Roberts with a wicket apiece on top of William Roberts’ magnificent effort.

The Steelmen skipped to 79-0 in just 14.2 overs to seal a 10-wicket win, Pugh 45 not out and captain George Bourne 24 no.

Buckley 2nd XI (13) 163-4 Pwllheli 2nd XI (2) 162-6

A Saturday win double for Buckley’s senior sides with the seconds getting home pretty comfortably against Pwllheli.

Pwll were put in and made a respectable 162-6, opener Daniel Pigott compiling an impressive 86, Mathew Edge bagging 2-16 for Bucks.

In response, the Lane End hosts reached a winning 163-4 in 32.2 overs, Danny Peover 54 not out, skipper Alex Storey 39, Joshua Murray 23 no, while Kalim Al Baloshi took 2-29 for the visitors.

Conwy 2nd XI (14) 186-3 Mynydd Isa and Maeshafn (1) 182-10

Another club to have a fine weekend was Conwy, whose seconds emulated their first team’s excellent win at Hawarden Park by beating Mynydd Isa and Maeshafn at Bodlondeb.

The visitors chalked up a useful 182 all out, Will Webster scoring 55 and Tom Hall 53, Sion Keir standing out for Conwy with 4-10, Richard Windmill 2-24.

The hosts had few problems reaching their target, ending on 186-3 in 38 overs, captain Carwyn Thomas shining with 69 alongside fellow opener Windmill (60), Keir adding an important 29 no.
