Seven straight wins for Bethesda, Carmel’s Daniel Sim begins his season with career best 112

Mold 2nd XI (0) 127-10 Northop 2nd XI (15) 274-4

Robert Alderson hit a career best 133 not out as Northop 2nds romped to a maximum points victory at Chester Road.

Opener Alderson was in dominant form as the visitors amassed 274-4 after 40 overs after opting to bat.
Paul Lindfield added 63 and Scott Oates 43.

Oates then claimed 3-2 off 3 overs, Charlie Grieg 2-16 and Tom Sudder 2-37 as Mold 2nds were blasted out for just 127, opener Craig Roberts making 40 and Damon Curtis 30.

Bethesda (13) 116-4 Hawarden Park 2nd XI (2) 113-7

Seven matches, seven wins for runaway leaders Bethesda who actually conceded two match points for the first time this season.

Pesda had previously recorded four 15-0 victories and two 14-1 triumphs ahead of Saturday’s matchday 7.

They are currently 31 points clear at the summit.

Bethesda’s Carwyn L Williams

In a rain-curtailed encounter, Hawarden Park 2nds made a modest 113-7 off 36 overs, Imran Khattak scoring 35, Carwyn L Williams a superb 3-20 from 9.

In reply, Pesda made it to 116-4 from 23.5 overs, Richie Parry 34 not out and Carwyn L Williams 27, Khattak 2-29.

Bersham (15) 141-1 Ruthin (0) 137-5

Suresh Lakmal Koswaththage grabbed the limelight with an unbeaten 78 as Bersham coasted to victory.

Visitors Ruthin were put in and limited to 137-5 off 40 overs, Murray Whitehead best with 39, Koswaththage taking 2-23.

The hosts needed just 30.2 overs to reach a winning 141-1, Maneesha Ayomal Nissanka adding 36 no to Koswaththage’s great knock.

Clwb Criced Caernarfon (1) 166-9 Carmel and District (14) 244-4

Daniel Sim could not have started his 2022 season better, scoring a career highest 112 in his Carmel’s side convincing success at Coed Helen.

The visitors, who elected to bat after calling the coin correctly, cracked a mammoth 244-4 off 40 overs, Ben Sim adding an impressive 61.

Jac Birch gathered 2-10 for the hosts.

Caernarfon managed 166-9 in response, Grant Peisley 45, Llyr Erddyn Davies 35 no and Roddy Denton 34, Connor Hughes picking up 3-30 for the visitors, Amer Jamil 2-20 and Derek Johnson 2-25.

Gresford 2nd XI (1) 121-7 Menai Bridge 2nd XI (14) 205-7

A good day for Menai Bridge CC, with the seconds matching the firsts in making a big score and winning well.

The islanders won the toss and chose to bat, chalking up 205-7 off 40 overs, Edward Gadsby top-scorer with 58, skipper Ian Grainger 35 and opener Sam Bixby 33, Mikk Pold notching 5-47 for the Colliers.

Despite captain George Morris producing a match-best total of 59, Gresford could only muster 121-7 in reply.

Liam Stone took 2-34 for the Bridge.

Mochdre 2nd XI (13) 112-5 St Asaph 2nd XI (2) 107-10

After dismissing Saints for a lowly 107, Mochdre 2nds pulled themselves off the bottom as they advanced to a five-wicket victory at Swan Road.

Asked to bat, Asaph’s highest contributor was Dominic Haynes with 42, while Daniel Phillips pocketed 4-17 from nine and Jon Davies 2-3 for the hosts.

Mochdre reached 112-5 in just 25.3 overs, William Opie 35 not out.

David North, who recently passed 500 league wickets for the club, returned a majestic 3-13 off nine for the visitors.
