Bangor’s Owen Reilly stood out with 3-45 off his 10 overs as Wales NC North lost their first competitive game of the season at Netherfield on Tuesday.
Rain affected the visitors’ run chase so the final winning margin of 152 runs looked much wider than it actually was.
Wales NC North won the toss and put the opposition into bat, the hosts hitting a formidable 265-6 off their 50 overs.
Number three, wicket-keeper Finlay Richardson, was head and shoulders above the rest in cracking 127 not out.
There was also a wicket apiece for recent Wales T20 cap Jason Foulkes, Chris Ellwood and Jack Parry.
In reply, Wales NC North were 113-5 when rain stopped play.
Mochdre’s Matty Humphreys top-scored with 35 not out, Harrison Jones adding 20.
Next up for Wales is a clash with Staffordshire CCC senior development squad at Elwy Park Grove, St Asaph, on Wednesday, May 25, 11 am start.
