Jamie Cumming converted the extra time penalty which secured Ruthin the NEWFA Challenge Cup for the second time in their history.

Tonight’s all-Cymru North final at the Memorial Playing Fields, Ruthin, ended up a seven-goal thriller.

The first half ended two-apiece, Matty Hill and Cumming on target for the hosts, while Asa Hamilton converted a pair of penalties for record nine-time cup winners Bucks.

Connor Littler nudged the Trotters in front in the 72nd minute, but Ruthin forced the added half-hour when Matty Evans levelled in stoppage time.

And it was Cumming’s 110th minute spot-kick which clinched the victory for Philly Hudson and Tommy Holmes’ heroes.

Llandudno Albion 11 Brymbo 0

Lee Stokes netted five times as Albion completed their campaign with a double-figure demolition of Brymbo to seal a seventh-place finish.

Stokes hit four in the first half, while Kyle Robb and Joe Carey were also on target as the hosts took a 6-0 lead into the break.

A fifth for Stokes two minutes into the second period was followed by goals from Adam Hold, Joey Jennings, Joel Lloyd and goalkeeper Louis Williams.

Llay Welfare 3 Brickfield Rangers 1

Levi Coleman, George Finlay and Tom Wells scored a goal apiece as fifth-placed Llay defeated Brickfield in a Wrexham area derby at The Ring.

Haci Ozlu replied for the visitors in the second half.

NORTH WALES COAST WEST PREMIER CUP

Bangor 1876 9 Pwllheli 0

Jamie Petrie was a four-goal star in 1876’s hammering of Pwllheli at Treborth.

The visitors began miserably when Mark Jones conceded an early own goal and it got no better, Petrie plundering a hat-trick, while Les Davies and Corrig McGonigle hit one apiece before the break.

Petrie struck again in the 48th minute, then Dylan Williams converted a penalty before Gethin Thomas completed the rout.

Gwalchmai 1 CPD Nefyn United 2

Visitors Nefyn pulled through in extra time to earn a tie at Bangor 1876 in the semi-finals.

Tomi Jones Evans and Ifan Jones scored for the Penwaig, while the Anglesey hosts had two sent off in extra time.

Jones Evans put United in front, Gwalchmai levelled in the closing minutes of the 90, then in the first period of extra time, Ifan Jones blasted a shot against the bar before scrambling to head the rebound home.

NORTH WALES COAST WEST DIVISION ONE CUP

CPD Waunfawr 3 Talysarn Celts 3 (Celts won 4-2 on penalties)

It finished 3-3 at Parc Coed Helen before extra time and then penalties were needed to find a winner.

Glyn Hughes-Thomas (2) and Luke Baum struck for Celts, who led 2-0 and 3-1, but the Beganifs battled back through Hywel Jones, Guto Llywelyn and Adam Jones.

After a goal-less added half hour, it went to spot-kicks and Talysarn prevailed 4-2.
