Llandudno need a point from Sunday’s home title decider with Wrexham to be crowned inaugural Genero Adran North champions.

Sarah Colville’s side took over top spot after tonight’s 3-0 win over Pwllheli at Maesdu Park.

The result leaves Tudno requiring just a draw from Sunday’s showdown to claim the title, while Wrexham have to win to land the prize.

Despite having just 12 players available, and making a long journey up the coast on a Thursday night, Pwllheli gave their all and did not make things easy by any means for the leaders.

In a goalless first half, Llandudno attacked regularly but their final ball was lacking.

As the half grew, Pwllheli gained in confidence and threatened on occasion, although home keeper Sara Williams was never overworked.

The first clear chance came on seven minutes when Tudno top-scorer Maddie Williams headed over from point blank range via a Stacey Tradewell corner.

The on-fire Tradewell hit a thumping right-footer in the 11th minute which keeper Hayley Rees-Williams did well to push onto the post.

Tradewell’s goalbound volley was headed behind for a corner, then after good work on the left from Rebecca Jarvis-Evans, Maddie Williams’ flick over the keeper was cleared off the line by Erica Jones.

A lovely pass from Tradewell released Ffion Owen, who skilfully worked her way through the defence only for the final touch to go wrong.

Llandudno were denied what looked like a clear penalty when Maddie Williams went down under challenge from Leanne Rees-Hughes.

HALF-TIME: 0-0

Llandudno had work to do in the second half to break down a stubborn Pwllheli defence, but the breakthrough came just a minute after the restart.

Two Wales internationals combined as Madison Williams lofted a lovely ball to release Jasmin Dutton who ran clear in the box and finished from close range.

Ffion Owen went close with two shots and Rees-Williams denied Madison Williams before a second home goal arrived.

In the 53rd minute, Tradewell’s pinpoint pass fed in Jess Jones, who looked to have delayed her shot a little too long, but produced a clinical left-foot finish.

Dutton ran at the Pwll defence and hit one just wide before goal number three landed in the 71st minute.

This time Jess Jones robbed the ball off Sian Moore and slotted in her second of the night.

Llandudno named Sioned Phillips as their Player of the Match
