Junior netball – title wins for Urdd and Walis

Sêr yr Urdd Gwyrdd are under-11 champions

The winners of the Under-11 and Under-16 divisions in the Cynghrair Pêlrwyd Iau Gogledd Orllewin Cymru/North West Wales Junior Netball League were decided last week.

Walis Gwyllt were crowned U-16 champions on goal average, while Sêr yr Urdd Gwyrdd clinched the U-11 title, with Walis Bach runners-up.

That made it a three-timer and nearly a quadruple for the Walis club from Caernarfon. Walis Dre recently won the U13’s League and Walis Disglair the U-15’s.

Under-11 runners-up Walis Bach

The U-11 presentation will be held on 19th March in Brailsford and all other age groups on the 2nd April.

League spokeswoman Allison Grace Williams said: “Thanks to all the committee members for their hard work in getting the league up and running safely again this year with complications of Covid restrictions and also after losing our venue in the Dome.

“Also thank you to all teams and parents for playing their part in keeping everyone safe, and enabling the girls to play the game they all love.

“It has been a great season of Netball with all teams progressing throughout the season. Diolch Pawb.”
