One of CPD Pwllheli’s finest players is still considering whether to return to football nine months after becoming a mother for the first time.
Amy Roberts, 24, is a classic No 10 with a gift for scoring goals and producing great hold-up play.

Dad (Alun) took me to my first-ever football training when I was 5 years old and it carried on from there
Up until I was 15/16 I played on the wings but now I play in the centre as I’ve completely lost my speed
Spend time with my family
Up until I was 16 I trained with North Wales, which would be held in Llandudno and in TNS. Also was chosen to play for Eryri in school and represented the Welsh Schools and Welsh Colleges teams.
My strengths are I can read the game very well and play with both feet and my weaknesses now are my speed and fitness
I don’t admire any female footballer as I don’t follow female football, I’m just interested in my own game
I don’t admire anyone
Definitely my dad. He coached me with Pwllheli girls for years and also helped a lot out with the ladies. He has influenced me so much to play football, he took me absolutely everywhere. He took me to every single training session, game and tournaments for all the teams I played for – even the boys. He wouldn’t miss any of my games and I loved him being involved. He was my best friend and the fact he’s still involved with Pwllheli now shows that he cares a lot for the club.
With how far Pwllheli ladies have come and the hard work the club has done for all of us to be one big club we deserve to be in tier 2
I can’t remember my greatest game but one of my achievements would be playing for Welsh Colleges against Australia and receiving a cap
The ladies have worked very hard this season and made us all in the club very proud.
His name is Owi and he’ll be 9 months on the 26th of this month and he’s absolutely brilliant, such a happy and funny little boy. I would love to carry on with Pwllheli ladies but since having Owi i’ve just not been up for it. I found it very hard coming back due to my fitness, hopefully I can come back next season.
I think I was in the under-14’s for Pwllheli girls and dad managed to get us a kit with short sleeves rather than long sleeves and we thought they were brilliant – we loved them haha
My partner says my music taste is absolutely awful because he’s a few years older than me so I’ve got used to listening to indie rock music because of him haha
Not really. With Owi being so small and Covid complicating stuff
I would love to work with animals
I’m happy to carry on with Pwllheli ladies and to win a cup
