Catching up with FAW Reserve Leagues – big wins for Ruthin and Nantlle Vale, Rhos derby victory

Llanrwst United Reserves 0 Nantlle Vale 3

Ashley Fon Owen was a hat-trick hero for Nantlle Vale in a three-goal triumph at Gwydir Park.

After a goalless first half, Owen struck on 62, 75 and 85 minutes, completing his treble from the penalty spot.

At 1-0 down, Llanrwst were reduced to 10 men after Gwion Owen was shown a second yellow card on 68 minutes.

United assistant-manager Stephen Richard Roberts was also red-carded in the 85th minute.

Ruthin Town Reserves 7 Conwy Borough Reserves 0

Llyr Morris knocked in a second-half treble for a rampant Ruthin.

Town are third in the table, just five points behind leaders Holywell Town Reserves with a game in hand.

First half goals by Alex Webster, Owen Heath and Iorwerth Jones gave the hosts a 3-0 interval lead.

That hat-trick from first team star Morris, and a goal from substitute Dan Dolben, sealed a 7-0 win.

Rhos Aelwyd Reserves 4 Brymbo Reserves 2

Arron Thomas converted two penalties in a home victory for the Aelwyd.

Thomas put his kicks away in the first and 14th minutes, while Thomas Hardy (11) and Lee Hanmer (90+3) also struck for the hosts.

Thomas Perrin was the only named scorer for Brymbo, who had Jordan Davies sent off for a second yellow on 77 minutes.
