She is the female equivalent of Yws Gwynedd – quality footballer, class musician!
Since signing for Amlwch Town early in the 2021-22 season, Tesni Hughes has been a sensation, her 15 goals making her second highest scorer in the North Wales Women’s League.
Tesni is also an up and coming guitar/vocalist who performs regular gigs. Some of her performances can be seen on You Tube.
She is The One and Only – okay that was Chesney Hawkes, but Chesney sounds like Tesni and Hawkes and Hughes are not dissimilar!

5’1 maybe? I’m really small ahaha
I became interested in football when I was really young, I don’t really remember how, I think because my cousins and a lot of my family have an interest in football.
I’ve been playing since I was about 4
In the last 5/6 years I’ve been a striker but I’ve played as a midfielder, defender and had a little phase where I wanted to be a keeper over the years.
We train on a Thursday and have games on Sunday. I try to go to the gym at times too just to try to get that little bit more training in.
In my spare time, I usually jam out with my guitar or keyboard. I either write my own songs or just play covers.
I’m not the biggest fan of shopping but 100% my favourite stores are Dr Martens and Vans.
I admire Jess Fishlock, she’s been a hero of mine since I was very young.
All the coaches I’ve had over the years have all impacted my game in so many ways so I can’t really pick just one😂
I reckon the best game I’ve played was when we drew 1-1 against Rhyl 1879. The battle myself and the team put into that game was something else!
When I was around 7 or 8 I got the chance to play for the Anglesey Boys team. I know it was a while back but being the only girl playing was something I’ll always be proud of ahaha.
I think my strengths are I’m hard working and I really want to make every game count but my weakness is I get annoyed at myself very quickly and..I tend to hit the ball over the bar very very often…as my teammates know🤭😂
I feel like this season is going really well for us at Amlwch and I couldn’t be prouder. I’m so glad I’m a part of such a great team on and off the pitch!
Music wise, my preference of music changes. It all depends on what I feel like that day, but ever since I was young I’ve been a huge fan of Oasis and the Stone Roses etc, but saying that I do have a soft spot for boy bands like JLS and 1D🤭
I’ve been playing music since a young age, starting off in a brass band playing the cornet almost 10 years ago now, but as I got older I started experimenting with an old guitar at home and fell in love with it. Now I play guitar, keyboard and euphonium, write songs and gig around Anglesey/Bangor (with the best crowd going 💙) while still being a part of Seindorf Beaumaris Brass Band.
I don’t really watch a lot of TV, but I do love a bit of Family Guy and South Park
I have 2 dogs and a cat. Oli is a little Jack Russell cross with a Mini Pincher. Bezz is a Collie cross with a Jack Russell and Patch is the cat
Either become successful in an acting career or probably tour the country with my music while also playing footie on the side
