Llandudno will end 2021 on top of the tier 2 Genero Adran North after a double-figures victory over Denbigh Town tonight.

Star of the show for the Seasiders was Maddie Williams, who netted six goals to boost her season’s total to 15.

Sarah Colville’s side moved a point ahead of second-place Connah’s Quay Nomads but having played a game more.

The win at Denbigh came two days after Tudno squandered a 3-1 lead to lose 5-3 at Wrexham – their first league defeat of the campaign.

The visitors got off to a flier at Central Park, Sioned Phillips putting them ahead in the fourth minute.

Maddie Williams notched her first a minute later and added another on eight.

The former Llanfairfechan player completed a hat-trick in the 14th minute.

Jess Jones made it 5-0 before Williams grabbed her fourth and Ceri Slaney completed the first half scoring. Half-time: 0-7.

Four minutes into the second half, Williams netted her fifth, then Slaney made it a double on 53.

The 56th minute saw Maddie Williams make it a double hat-trick and 11-0 overall.

Substitute Stacey Tradewell brought up the dozen before the first scorer for Llandudno also turned out to be the last – Phillips completing the rout in the 89th minute.

Llandudno were again without 22-goal top-scorer Ella Jones, who has been injured for the past two games.

Maddie Williams has been used as the main striker in Jones’ absence. Against Denbigh, Williams was paired with Jess Jones up front.

Llandudno manager Colville was full of praise for the opposition. She said: “Denbigh have progressed so much since we last played them and Netty (Jones) was outstanding in goal tonight – saved lots of goals/shots.

“I love the fact that Denbigh never throw the towel in and always play to the final whistle.”
