Support Bangor 1876 and the Movember charity at a special game on Monday

Treborth will host a fund-raising friendly on Monday

Bangor 1876 Football Club aim to raise money for a very special cause from a friendly match taking place on Monday.

The fan-owned club’s North Wales Coast West League Premier Division game at home to Nefyn United on Friday had to be postponed, but a newly-arranged friendly is just round the corner.

On Monday 15 November at 8.15pm, 1876 will be playing Bangor University at Treborth.

Entry is free, but fans are asked to make a donation towards Movember as the Bangor University football team are currently trying to raise funds for the charity that focuses on mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

This month, members of the university squad are participating in a range of fundraising activities as part of Movember so 1876 hope their fans will give generously at Monday’s game.

Movember is an event that 1876 players have previously supported, and only last year several members of the squad attempted to grow moustaches for the occasion. See: https://www.bangor1876.com/news/bangor-1876-players-and-fans-support-movember-2587134.html.

Bangor 1876 media officer Jonathan Ervine said: “As a club, we are grateful to have been supported by the university ever since our formation in 2019.

We have benefited from the excellent facilities at Treborth and have also recently started to use Bar Uno as our post-match venue. In addition, current squad members Mark Hawkins, Harry Galeotti, Aaron Heald and Luke Steele have all played for the Bangor University side.

“Please try to make it along to Monday’s match and give generously to support the Movember fundraising efforts.”
