She has represented North Wales at three different sports – football, rugby union and hockey.
Happy birthday Heledd Evans – 23 today.
Born on October 29, 1998, mental health nurse Heledd currently plays football for North Wales Women’s League leaders CPDM Bangor 1876.
She has previously competed in the Welsh Premier Women’s League for Caernarfon Town and also represented Bontnewydd Juniors and Mountain Rangers.
Mainly a centre-back, Heledd was part of the renowned Caernarfon Under-16 Girls ‘dream team’ of 2013-14 which won a remarkable quadruple.
Not only did they land the national FAW Under-16 Girls Cup, beating Llanyrafon 2-0 in the final, the Cofis also lifted the North Wales League title, League Cup and Darwin Cup.
The squad from seven years ago now reads like a who’s who of some North Wales’ finest domestic footballers playing the game today, including Ffion Wyn Williams, Danielle Barnfield, Ffion Bee, Gemma Thomas and Sioned Phillips.
Heledd was among them, her talents also leading to selection for North Wales and involvement with the Welsh development squad.
She went on to win the North Wales League title and Betty Pickering Cup double with Caernarfon Town in 2016-17, netting eight goals over the season.
A natural leader of the defence, Heledd reads the game well, possesses a powerful kick and is strong in the tackle.
Heledd has also experienced success as a rugby player.
Over the years she has played for Caernarfon, North Wales and Bangor University, where she was part of the team which reached the BUCS Cup final.
Usually playing at centre, Heledd is a capable kicker and ball carrier. She has also played in the same team as current Wales international Teleri Wyn Davies.
Heledd has also represented Caernarfon and North Wales at hockey.
She is a popular and dedicated sportswoman who always gives 100 percent to everything she does.
Penblwydd hapus Heledd.
