NORTH EAST WALES FOOTBALL LEAGUE ROUND-UPS – SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2

PREMIER DIVISION

Greenfield edged a 4-3 thriller at FC Queen’s Park to move to within four points of leaders Chirk Town.

Lewis Williams (2), Dean Hyland and Darren Johns supplied the away goals, Callum Williams, Daniel McGinnis and Ross Bignall replying for the hosts.

Lee Messham, Connor Turner and Paul Williams grabbed the goals which earned Halkyn and Flint Mountain a 3-1 result at Llangollen Town, Benjamin Wilson responding.

Kurt Issac netted twice in Cefn Mawr Rangers’ 4-0 success at Coedpoeth United, Matthew Tombs and Matthew Jones also on target.

Kris Turner (2), Aaron Davies, Scott Davies and Kieran Jones combined to secure New Brighton Villa a 5-2 result against Lex XI, who benefited from a Lewis Tudor own goal, followed by a Lewis Harrington strike.

Luca Nardo and Benjamin Bailey were on the mark for Castell Alun Colts in their 2-0 win against Overton Recreational.

CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION

Unbeaten table-toppers Penyffordd Lions stretched their lead to 11 points with a 4-0 victory over visitors Brymbo Lodge.

Richard Lawrence (2), Liam Williams and Ben Hughes shared the goals for a team now undefeated in 11.

Goals from Adam Randles and Jake Leonard sealed a 2-1 verdict for Connah’s Quay Town over CPD Sychdyn, Jack Radford replying.

Caerwys took the spoils 9-4 at Bellevue, Shay Davies and Dylan Mackie notching two apiece, Callum Pritchard, Thomas Anderson, Lewis Harrison (pen), Kyle Jones and Jack Cox with the rest.

Luke Armstrong (2, 1 pen). Rolando Ruiz and Brandon Griffiths split the home goals.

Andrew Swarbrick netted four for Ruabon Rovers in an 11-1 demolition of hosts FC United of Wrexham.

Lee Price added a treble, Shaun Valentine, Mark Jones and Matthew Pritchard combining for the rest. Callum Parry was FCUW’s sole hitman.

Joao Da Silva gave Railway Rovers a first-minute lead against Borras Park Albion, who fought back to earn a 1-1 draw thanks to Stephen Berry’s net-finder on 54.

RESERVE DIVISION

Matthew Bithell (3) and Ryan Lancelotte (2) guided FC Queen’s Park to a remarkable 5-4 triumph over Llangollen Town, after Lewis Hitchen (2) and Joseph Morris (2) had put the visitors 4-1 up at half time.

Thomas Adamson, Lewis Edwards, Levi Coleman and Joshua Venables all featured on the scoresheet for Llay Welfare Colts in a 5-2 beating of Coedpoeth United, Timothy Humphreys-Jones and Keanu Bruton with consolations for the losing side.

Mynydd Isa Spartans outscored Castell Alun Colts 3-1.

In a lively opening 25 minutes where all the goals were scored, Corey Bellis, Harvey McGrail and Jack Aitken put the home side 3-1 up, Allister Belk knocking one in for the visitors.
