Debut win for Llangefni Town, Pwllheli turn tables on Wrexham in the league cup

GENERO ADRAN NORTH LEAGUE CUP

Pwllheli turned the tables in magnificent fashion by beating a Wrexham side they lost 6-0 to last weekend.

Today the Llyn girls overcame the reds 3-1 in a Genero Adran North Group 1 clash.

Second half goals from Charley Davies, Magi Hughes and Katie Bowe put the hosts 3-0 up before Rosie Hughes replied for the visitors.

Also in Group 1, Llanfair United triumphed 4-1 at Airbus, Tonicha Lloyd, Sophie Cook (2) and Gemma Jones sharing the away goals, Alice Lawrence responding.

Group 2 action saw Ella Jones score four times for Llandudno in a resounding 6-1 defeat of Bethel.

The 17-year-old was different class, netting all her goals in the first half.

Jasmin Dutton and Maddie Williams added further goals for the hosts, Katie Midwinter with Bethel’s sole response.

Connah’s Quay Nomads won 6-0 at Denbigh Town, Shannon Hobbs with a pair, Niamh Grimshaw, Kyile Jones, Tamara Hamer and Noelani Bouckley all with one apiece.

NORTH WALES WOMEN’S FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Danielle Barnfield and Awel Ellis both struck hat-tricks as Bangor 1876 romped to a 12-0 success over Llanystumdwy.

Ffion Roberts scored twice to make it five goals in two matches for her new team.

Ceri Lois delivered a double, Jordan Roberts and Ceri Roberts also on the mark.

It was a good afternoon for the Thomas girls in the Anglesey derby between Amlwch Town and Trearddur Bay.

Shannon Thomas and Lowri Thomas both netted twice for Amlwch in their 4-1 triumph, Freya Davies replying for promising newcomers Bay.

And what a start for debutants Llangefni Town – 5-1 winners in their first-ever competitive match at Cae Bob Parry over Welshpool Town.

Jenn Cox notched a hat-trick for Dan Gregg’s team, confirming the dazzling form she showed in pre-season.

Hannah Owen and Lara Cain also found the net for the hosts, Hazel Bliss-Bennett getting the Powys visitors on the scoreboard.
