The first four fixtures have been announced for the new 2021-22 Genero Adran League North season.

Launching the new division on Sunday, September 5, will be
Airbus UK Broughton v Bethel
Connah’s Quay Nomads v Denbigh Town
Llanfair United v Llandudno
Wrexham v Pwllheli

Airbus and Bethel are old rivals from the North Wales League.

The last time they met was in the 2019-20 season, when the Wingmakers inflicted a shock 4-0 defeat on the Caernarfon-area side in the Betty Pickering Cup.

Earlier in the campaign, Bethel beat Airbus twice, 2-0 in the Welsh Cup and 3-2 in North Wales League Division One.

Nomads and Denbigh have never come up against one another at league level, but they did clash in the 2019-20 Welsh Cup, the Quay winning convincingly away 8-3.

Llanfair United were the last winners of the North Wales League, but proved no match for Llandudno in the 2019-20 Welsh Cup, losing 6-1 at Maesdu Park. Tudno were then a Welsh Premier team.

Wrexham beat Pwllheli 1-0 on the last occasion the two locked horns in the 2019-20 NEWFA Cup quarter-finals, Oceia Thomas with the only goal.

However, both teams will be much changed when they renew rivalries on September 5, each having brought in many new players this summer.

Wrexham are now managed by ex-Airbus coach Mari Edwards, while Erica Jones and Andrew “Lefty” Wright are in charge at Pwllheli.

It promises to be a thrilling opening weekend!
