Wrexham AFC Women are looking to hire a new first-team manager.

Former boss Luke Wynne, who had led the side since they returned to football in 2018-19, has left the role.

Under Wynne, the Dragonesses won the Division Two League Cup, reached the Supplementary Cup final and earned promotion to North Wales Women’s League Division One in their first season.

Wrexham are now preparing for the 2021/22 FAW Tier 2 North league season, following the successful application for a new second-tier licence.

At an exciting time for women’s football in the town and the country, Wrexham are now looking to take on a manager to help take the team to the next level.

Head of Female Football, Gemma Owen, told the club’s website: “Luke took on the role of Wrexham AFC Women’s manager at the time of the teams’ fruition, and has played his part in getting the team to where it is today.

“We would like to thank Luke, on behalf of all at the club, for all his efforts during his time as manager.

“We are now looking for a manager to lead the team into a new and exciting era for the club, and for the women’s team.

“We have experienced and specialist staff members on board, first-class training facilities and a clear club identity. Wrexham AFC are fully committed to supporting the growth of female football and increasing the opportunities available across Wrexham, Wales and beyond.

“We have big ambitions for the women’s team, and I’m looking forward to welcoming applicants for this role.”

Apply by emailing vacancies@wrexhamfc.tv or by calling 01978 891864 for an application form. Application forms can be downloaded from the team’s webpage or email vacancies@wrexhamfc.tv to obtain a form.
