CARMEL & DISTRICT (14) 164-2 LLAY WELFARE 2ND XI (1) 163-7

Half-centuries from Dafydd Bailey and Daniel Sim guided Carmel to an emphatic win over Llay on Sunday.
The visitors decided to bat and posted 163-7 off 40 overs, openers Joe Howell and Huw Jones making 39 and 35 respectively, Ieuan Jones with 2-18 and Derek Johnson 2-22 for the hosts.
Carmel reached 164-2 in 35 overs, Bailey 56 not out and Sim 51.

SATURDAY, JULY 10

BERSHAM (13) 139-4 ST ASAPH 2ND XI (2) 138-8

David North produced a tremendous all-round display for Saints, but a crucial fourth wicket partnership made sure Bersham took the victory.
Asaph were put in and made a modest 138-8 off 40, North striking an admirable 52 and Mike Thompson 42, Tim Jones 3-28 and Randheer Bandara 2-8 from six for the hosts.
In reply, Bersham suffered early losses, North grabbing 3-30, but Rishan Fernando (52) and Amith Thilakarathne (39 no) did most to see the home side to 139-4 in just 25.2 overs for a 13-2 points decision.

LLAY WELFARE 2ND XI (14) 149-3 (revised target) GRESFORD 2ND XI (1) 188-4

Gresford looked to have done the hard work when they posted 188-4 but it was Llay who ended up the winners at The Ring.
Top three Rory Benson (58 no), Joshua Knowles (49) and Gez Jones (45) helped the visitors to a more than respectable total.
However, rain interruptions meant Llay were faced with a new target of 147 from 28 overs.
And the hosts got to 149-3 with nine balls to spare, Huw Jones 41, Dave Jones 26 and Dave Wright 26 not out, with extras totalling 35 also proving most helpful.

MARCHWIEL & WREXHAM (11) 221-8 CARMEL & DISTRICT (4) 219-4

Leaders Marchwiel scraped home off the penultimate ball in a thriller where Carmel played an heroic part.
The visitors won the toss and batted, amassing 219-4 from 40 overs, skipper Ben Sim 65, Dafydd Bailey 50 and Alun Davies 42.
Marchwiel and Wrexham just edged over the line on 221-8 off 39.5, George Forgrave 69, Sam Shoemark 37 and Michael Forgrave 30, Ryan Williams (17 no) and Nathan Mathews (14 no) adding a crucial unbroken 25 for the ninth wicket.

MOLD 2ND XI (0) 111-9 BUCKLEY (15) 116-0

Seren Smale scored a maiden first team half-century as Buckley kept their title challenge on the boil.
Hosts Mold could only manage 111-9 from 40 overs, Connor Hughes 37, William Norman 3-9 from nine and Louis Parry 3-16 for Bucks.
The visitors needed just 21 overs to reach a winning 116-0, wicket-keeper Smale 52 no and Joel Sampson 50 no.

NORTHOP 2ND XI (15) 196-8 MOCHDRE 2ND XI (0) 87-10

Matthew Mullarkey (75) and Chris Brooks (68) helped Northop set a more than ample total for victory, Sean McHale picking up 5-30 for the visitors.
On a bad weekend for Mochdre, the seconds were bowled out for just 87, Mullarkey completing a great match with 5-30, Joe Griffiths 3-8.
