Gwalchmai FC striker Corey Sinnott is 39 today.

In the past year, Grassroots North Wales has published a Meet the Player article and a Services to North Wales Football feature on Corey, so to mark his special day we’ll go for Plan C – 10 top highlights from the man’s career.

1 One of Corey’s finest early career achievements was winning the Welsh Alliance League title with Bodedern in 2004-05 at the age of 22.

2 Always a consistent marksman, striker Corey netted 24 goals for Gwalchmai in 2011-12 and 21 in 2012-13.

3 Corey has scored in two NWCFA Intermediate Cup finals for Gwalchmai – versus Greenfield in 2008-09 and Prestatyn Town Reserves in 2009-10. Unfortunately, Gwalch lost both finals.

4 Corey was once marked by Manchester City and England defender Joleon Lescott in a friendly for Llangefni Town against Wolves.

5 He scored a hat-trick for Bodedern the first time he faced former club Llangefni – a bittersweet moment.

6 In 2009-10 Corey was part of the CPD Gwalchmai side which won a treble – the Gwynedd League title, Gwynedd Cup and President’s Cup.

7 One of his greatest ever goals came in the 2009-10 NWCFA Intermediate Cup final against Prestatyn Town Reserves at Farrar Road, Bangor. Corey broke the deadlock with a stunning long range chip, but Gwalch finished up 2-1 losers.

8 Corey returned to Llangefni in 2016-17 after Gwalchmai took a season out. He was part of the Cefni side which made it all the way to the FAW Trophy semi-final, only to lose to Chirk AAA.

9 He has played in the tier 2 Cymru Alliance for both Llangefni Town and Bodedern.

10 Corey regards midfield hero Paul Bryant (The Guv’nor) as the best he has played alongside in his lengthy career.

Born on June 4, 1982, Corey shares a birthday with Ben Stokes, Angelina Jolie and Russell Brand!
