Ewan Hill on song again as Mold 2nds dish out another Division Two thrashing

Mold 2nd XI (14) 179-3 Carmel (1) 177-9

North Wales’ current top run-scorer Ewan Hill hit an unbeaten 80 as Division Two leaders Mold 2nds breezed to victory over Carmel.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat, setting 177-9 off their 40 overs, Ryan Roberts 67 not out and Dafydd Bailey 51.

Hill then led the way as the hosts eased to 179-3 in 37.2, Chris Boulton adding 50 and Craig Roberts 33.

Denbigh 2nd XI (0) 142-10 Buckley (15) 143-1

Second-wicket pair Joel Sampson (79 not out) and Sam Evans (52 no) guided Bucks to an emphatic win at Ystrad Road.

Denbigh called the coin correctly and chose to bat, being bowled out for 142, Adam Shaw 3-24, Oliver Fellows 2-18 and Louis Parry 2-25.

Bucks then coasted to 143-1 in 29 overs for a 15-0 result.

Gresford 2nd XI (1) 110-10 Bersham (14) 112-3

Rathnayaka Mudiyanselage Shanka snapped up 3-29 as Gresford 2nds were bowled out for a low total by Bersham at Clappers Lane.

Suranga Thilakarathne picked up 2-7, Suresh Lakmal Koswaththage 2-17 and Rishan Fernando 2-25 as the hosts were dismissed for 111 after opting to bat, opener and skipper Joshua Knowles scoring 38, Gez Jones 29 not out and Wes Evans 25.

Nuwan Amarakoon then made 63 as Bersham reached 112-3 in 34.2, Mikk Pold a brilliant 3-14 off eight for the hosts, who nonetheless lost 14-1.

Marchwiel & Wrexham (15) 280-4 St Asaph 2nd XI (0) 90-10

Sam Shoemark (101) and Michael Forgrave (98) put on a mammoth 209 for the first wicket.

Skipper Josh Williams added 30 as the hosts piled up 280-4 off 40 overs Elliot Goddard 2-16 for the visitors.

Saints were then all back in the pavilion for 90, Josh Williams 3-14 and Jason Wharam 3-15.

Points: Marchwiel & Wrexham 15-0.

Northop 2nd XI (12) 184-8 Menai Bridge 2nd XI (3) 157-9

Opener James Roberts scored a crucial 70 as Northop 2nds saw off Menai Bridge 2nds at Flint Road.

Josh Griffiths added 39 in the home total of 184-8, George Roberts 3-27 and Ian Granger 3-31 for the Anglesey side.

Despite a battling 73 from opening bat Josh Massey, the islanders finished short on 157-9, Sion Ferguson 2-21, Tom Sudder 2-24 and Charlie Collins 2-25.
