Joshua Andrady claimed a stunning five wicket haul as Northop Hall advanced to round three of the Voneus National Village Cup with a comfortable win over Stayley CC at Smithy Lane.
The Liverpool and District Competition First Division hosts won the toss in this Cheshire and Clwyd – Group 8 round two battle and put their Greater Manchester Cricket League visitors into bat.
Joshua Andrady scooped 5-13 off five as Stayley were dismissed for 125 in their 25 overs.
Matthew Hodgson claimed 2-27 and James Hurlin 2-31 in a fine, all-round bowling effort from the North Wales side’s attack.
In reply, Hall started well with Michael Barnes (35) and Jac Kennedy (24) putting on 61 for the first wicket.
Alastair Andrady (15) kept the runs ticking along before Jamie Hodgson (17 no) and Joshua Andrady (19 no) added an unbroken 30 for the fourth wicket to see the hosts to 128-3 in 20.3 overs and a seven-wicket triumph.
Hall will next host Alvanley of the Cheshire County League in round four on May 23.
