Four second half goals from the visitors turned what was a highly competitive game for 53 minutes into a one-sided procession.

Caernarfon started well without creating any clear chances and it was against the run of play when Nomads took a 16th minute lead.

Jamie Insall smartly found Neil Danns, who timed his pass perfectly for Declan Poole to slot into the left corner of the net.

The visitors pushed for a second but the Canaries rode the storm and then drew level on 23 minutes.

Jacob Bickerstaff skilfully brought down a high ball, advanced into the box and beat keeper Oliver Byrne at his near post for one-apiece.

Andy Morrison’s side were back in front on 32 minutes when Poole was given too much time to deliver into the six-yard box from the right and Michael Wilde pounced with a diving header.

Caernarfon appealed for a penalty when John Disney appeared to handle a Mike Hayes cross, then three minutes before the break Quay livewire Danny Davies lashed just over the bar.

Half-time: Caernarfon 1 Nomads 2

Town began the second half strongly, but their hopes of a result suffered a sickening blow in the 54th minute.

Kris Owens dinked a free kick into the box and Caernarfon striker Cai Jones sliced the ball into his own net.

Four minutes later the hosts had a chance to cut the deficit, but Hayes blasted over the bar.

Nomads added a fourth in the 73rd minute when the Cofis were unable to get much purchase on clearing a right-wing cross and Davies’ volley was not the cleanest struck but still found the net.

In the 78th minute it was 5-1 when Callum Morris lofted a ball to the back post and substitute George Horan volleyed in off the underside of the bar.

To compound Town’s misery, keeper Josh Tibbets had to be stretchered off with a leg injury sustained in a collision with Horan.

The 90th minute delivered a sixth goal for Nomads as Davies thumped a low cross in off the bar.
