Llanfair United stalwart Nia Wyn Ellis chooses team 18 in the series of North Wales Women’s Dream XI’s.
In selecting her side, the experienced midfielder follows previous ‘managers’ Annmarie Jones, Fflur Williams, Chelsea Evans, Abby Williams, Gwenno Gibbard Bolton, Lexi Crawley, Claire Colville, Cerys Gadd, Libby McClelland, Meinir Thomas, Erica Jones, Rachel Roberts, Beca Williams, Mari Gibbard, Emily Jones, Cara Wyn Hughes and Catrin Wyn Thomas.
Played against her numerous times in football and hockey, always difficult to score against her, great shot stopper. Glad to say we are now on the same team!
Always a tough defender to play against, strong in tackles and never gives up.
Great strong defender, good pace and always puts in that crucial tackle. Always talks and encourages team-mates on the pitch.
I’ve watched Mary develop as a young player, growing in confidence during every match.
Solid at the back, great at heading and clearing the ball and also has the ability to score some goals. Also a great encouraging captain!
Great pace and strong defender – very difficult to get past her. Is also able to carry the ball up the wing and whip in some great crosses with her left foot.
A very skilful player who takes people on and makes it look easy. Great carrier of the ball, can find that perfect pass and a top finisher in front of goal.
Played against Jenny in the North Powys League and was always a nightmare to play against. Strong tackler, confident carrying the ball and a player who also has a good shot at goal.
A skillful player with pace who always looks threatening in front of goal. Only 18, but already has major respect in the senior game. Scored 32 goals in her first two seasons.
A determined player who never gives up, strong in a tackle but also a good attacking player who is often found on the scoresheet.
Calm and clinical in front of goal, no surprises that she has been league top scorer.
Not afraid to take a shot from anywhere on the pitch – skillful player who can use both feet to score!
Another striker who knows where the goal is – a player that everyone would want on their team with her goal scoring record!
