Rosie Hughes hit four for Denbigh in a high-scoring friendly at Central Park.

Youngster Cara Jones and the experienced Emma Roden were also on target for the hosts.

NFA, who included five under-16 players, led 3-1 at one stage and replied with an Emily Jones double, plus singles from Georgie Owen and Amy Webster.

Llanystumdwy 0

Bethel 14

Newcomers Llanystumdwy produced a really encouraging performance in what was their first ever match.

Visitors Bethel won the game comfortably, which was to be expected given the fact they have a highly-skilled squad which plays regularly and is always challenging for trophies.

Hannah Jones, Ellie Jones and Angharad Evans notched hat-tricks, Anest Roberts, Llio Henshaw, Nel Huws and Kelly Jones sharing the other Bethel goals.

Ellie Jones and Mali Henshaw, both coming up from the under-16’s, did exceptionally well.

Llanystumdwy created a few chances, forcing keeper Sioned Hughes-Williams into a couple of good saves.

Bethel captain Gwenno Gibbard-Bolton said: “It’s so nice to see another new team joining the women’s game, and it was good too see a great bunch of girls enjoying their first ever match.

“Llanystumdwy can only improve now and we want to congratulate them and wish them all the best in the future.”

Millbank put up a fine show against the all-conquering Mally in this Rhyl and District Sunday League friendly at Coronation Gardens.

Benn Lundstram threatened first for the Mally when he struck the inside of the post from 20 yards.

Lundstram Jr, whose father Mike also played, then opened the scoring with a right-footed 25-yard effort.

The lively Lundstram Jr also hit the bar from 25 yards out before Cameron Brook pounced on a goalkeeping mistake to make it 2-0.

Millbank’s finest moment came when Alex Hall made it 2-1 with a fantastic long range screamer.

The hosts went close to an equaliser before Jamie Moorhouse netted from a goalmouth scramble to clinch the win.
