Connah’s Quay Nomads will face FK Sarajevo of Bosnia Herzegovina in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.

The Cymru Premier champions tackle the Bosnians at Cardiff City Stadium on Wednesday, August 19, in a one-legged match, kick off 7 pm.

The game will be played to a conclusion with extra-time and penalties being used if the scores are level.

Winners advance to the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round; all losing sides progress to the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round.

If Nomads are victorious next Wednesday, they will play an away tie against either Dynamo Brest of Belarus or Astana of Kazakhstan.

Second qualifying round matches are to be played on 25 or 26 August.

Europa League

In the first qualifying round draw, 2019-20 Cymru Premier runners-up The New Saints were seeded and will play home against MŠK Žilina of Slovakia in their one-legged match.

Bala Town, third in the Cymru Premier last season, must travel to Malta where they will play Valletta.

If Barry Town United can eliminate NSÍ Runavík of the Faroe Islands in the preliminary round, they will set up an encounter with Aberdeen of the Scottish Premier League.

The Jenner Park club will play Runavík on 20 August in single-leg match for a place in the next round. The game will be played to a conclusion on the day with extra-time and penalties if required.
