Mountain Rangers Ladies FC held their annual presentations over the internet on Sunday night.
Despite playing so few games in a curtailed 2019-20 season, the Lamas still produced a lot to be positive about, finishing fourth in North Wales Women’s League Division Two on the points-per-game method.
Rangers won three, drew one and lost two in the league, with 32 goals scored and 11 conceded.
Seven awards were presented as follows
Manager Irfon Hughes commented: “Best left foot I’ve ever seen – both men and women. Any team in Wales she would walk into I’m sure, we are so lucky to have her in Rangers.”
Irfon Hughes: “Nia has quietly kept this club together. On her laptop registering players, sorting the accounts, first aid, cafe and many more jobs, Nia has been the backbone of this club. Home or away, men or women, she is there and one in a million. Respect and thanks for everything Nia.”
Irfon Hughes: “Quietly gone about her work on the pitch, willing to play in any position, and always gives 100 percent – week in, week out.”
Irfon Hughes: “True leader and captain who gives 110 percent in every game, and first name on the team sheet each game.”
Irfon Hughes: “Impressed from the first training session. For a 21-year-old she has developed to be a strong defender and future captain for sure.”
Irfon Hughes: “I am so proud of this girl, who is full of talent and has a big future in the game. She gets better in every game and her performance away at Pwllheli was superb.”
Martin Jones: “Lisa has been immense for the last two seasons. She scored our very first goal in competitive football last season, and has shown her class on and off the pitch this season.
“As a key worker she came straight from finishing a night shift to play matches. That shows commitment in abundance. As a club we thank you.”
This season will see experienced players Elena Julio and Sara Williams take over as managers of Mountain Rangers from Irfon Hughes.
Both are very keen to recruit new players, as well as retain current ones.
Details on training sessions will be published on the club’s social media outlets as soon as possible.
